yet another change of scenery... [Jun. 18th, 2008|09:39 pm]

We're moving to San Francisco...next week. I'm actually going to run cross country and track again too (I'm pretty darn excited about that). I'll be going to San Francisco State next spring (I'm taking fall term off to work...and NCAA eligibility blah blah) Anywho, I'm anxious to get back to running (it's all I know...I must return), and it gives me more time to get in shape.

oh hey! [Jun. 16th, 2008|12:22 am]

I just realized that I have livejournal. It was neat. I also realized that I haven't posted since I've lived in Oregon, so here's a recap:

Eugene (Track town USA)
Beautiful summers (about 17 hours of daylight, almost no humidity, highs usually in the 80s,
beautiful...pretty much like California is all year.)
bike trails everywhere
gorgeous parks
I rescued an abandoned (and amazing) 70's-era Peugeot road bike that I have cleverly named
Pepe le Peugeot (Pew-joh)
Winter sucks (6 months of rain...I thought it was an exaggeration)
dark places
anti-depressants
I'm a barista (possibly the most coveted pacific northwest college kid occupation available. w00t!)
University of Oregon
I will graduate some time in the next decade (maybe)
I started running again (like 4 days ago)
running trails everywhere
everything hurts (I haven't run in, oh, a year and half)
There are a multitude of crazy people (fun to watch...not to talk to)
I love my husband
Will is supposed to be in Iraq by this time next year (I didn't sign up for this)

That's all I got for now. There will be more to come I'm sure.

I've kind of been hiding out in a cave for the past year or so, but the sun finally came out, so maybe I won't be depressed anymore. (I got so excited when I saw the sun that I just walked around for 2 hours and got burned pretty bad. it was worth it)and Pepe and I have been getting some quality time in on the bike trails. I still miss all my homies in Alabama!

three months later... [Jan. 19th, 2007|09:00 am]

I haven't posted in approximately three months. I really should get back to keeping up with everyone. I just witnessed something that I decided was post-worthy. I just saw (with my own eyes) a 97 year old man walking uber fast on a treadmill for about 15 minutes. I'm impressed.
I finally get to see my husband today (stupid national guard...I have a bone or two to pick with them) We're going to Montgomery this weeked. I'll be in Auburn for the next 4 weeks or so (except on the weekends). Most of you already know this, but if there's anyone else who wants to hang out, LET ME KNOW because I will be leaving for Texas February 22 and then for Oregon in April after Will is done with training.
I started running at the end of last week. It's surprising how fast my body gets back into it after not running at all for 2 months. I guess it's just in my nature now. Ah yes, and Will and I are planning to run a marathon in San Francisco (I think it's in august). Hooray!

Fall Break [Oct. 17th, 2006|11:00 pm]

Does anyone else have Fall Break this Thursday and Friday? Will is student teaching, and I'm trying to decide what to do with these two days. I wanted to see if anyone will be home for the weekend too.

aaaand...DDR is extremely addicting (and fun when no one is looking) :D

I miss my baby! I get to see him in TWO days! I'm glad I'll be back in the 'burg in time for my birthday because I already missed Will's on June 20th :( Oh well, I got him a good present, and I get to give it to him when I return. Don't get me wrong now, I LOVE California, and under any other circumstances (that included Will), I would be thrilled to stay here for an extended period of time. The weather is AMAZING. The trails are TO DIE FOR, and there is good food EVERYWHERE. Theoretically, I am surrounded by all of my favorite things, but it's just not the same without him. I would take the sticky, humid, swamp that is Hattiesburg in the summer over incredi-wonderful California any day that he is there. ok, I sound like an over-dramatic fool in love, and I apologize to those of you who just got indigestion from reading my post.

I do miss my dearest Birminghamians too! I just finished watching the graduation episode of saved by the bell, and nostalgia of high school times was soon to follow. I even replaced Santa's command to his magical reindeer with your names! (see?)...

On Leigh Ann!
On Beth Ann!
On Kid with the Pole!

On Viv!
and Schillacki!
Amanda and Cole!

On Brockli!
and KC!
On Ronda and Jim!
and Jim's sister Lindsay who saved us that night! (we would have died...or been incredibly miserable)

On Ginny!
and Kelly!
and Austin and Sean!
The SPCC newcomers to college life!

...ok, so Cole rhymed with Pole...and he is Amanda's brother, so I thought it fit. Is he still scared of me?

yeah, and "night" and "life" don't rhyme...but they do go together, you must admit. Whatever. I miss you guys. That's all.

Save Screech's house! [Jun. 18th, 2006|11:01 am]
[Current Music |Under Pressure - Queen]

'Screech' Hopes to Be Saved by the T-Shirt
By Associated Press
Sat Jun 17, 7:12 AM

MILWAUKEE - More than a bell is needed to save Dustin Diamond this time around. Diamond, best known as geeky Screech Powers on the 1989-1993 teen comedy series "Saved by the Bell," is selling T-shirts with his photo on them to try to raise $250,000 so he doesn't lose his gray two-story house under a foreclosure order.

"If the public didn't care, I as an entertainer wouldn't have been a success," he said.

Diamond, 29, is trying to sell nearly 30,000 shirts _ at $15 or $20 (autographed) each _ to supplement the income he makes as a standup comic so he doesn't have to move from his Port Washington home, about 25 miles north of Milwaukee.

The T-shirt has a photo of Diamond holding a sign that says, "Save My House." The back of the shirt reads, "I paid $15.00 to save Screeech's house." The third "e" was added to get around copyright laws, he said.

He's selling the shirts on his Web site: http://www.getdshirts.com.

I would like some opinions on my new pic. It's my track picture from the southern miss athletics website, and I just think its funny. Will says I look like I belong on a sitcom. Ronna says I look like I'm about to say something really stupid. What do you think?
